Can Rover deactivate my account?

At Rover, safety is our number one priority. In order to maintain a safe marketplace, we may deactivate your account if we find that you’re engaging in unsafe, fraudulent, or other inappropriate practices violating Rover’s Terms of Service.

Your account may be deactivated for some of the following reasons (this is not an exhaustive list):

Safety-related concerns. Any behaviour that puts a pet, an owner, a sitter, or the public at risk may result in account review or deactivation.

Account misuse. Examples include (but aren’t limited to) posting unlawful content, sending spam, or maintaining multiple accounts.

Harassment or other inappropriate conduct. Don’t use Rover Messages or other forms of communication to harass, belittle or abuse people you meet via Rover.

Offline payments. All payments for pet care arranged through Rover must be made on Rover.com. Inviting others to pay (or offering to pay) outside of Rover.com may result in account deactivation.

Here are some things you can do to keep your account in good standing on the Rover platform:

  • Make safety a priority for all stays and Meet & Greets.

  • Be transparent with the people you meet through Rover and maintain professional communication on the platform.

  • Always pay for Rover services on the platform.
